When Should Children Be Given Cell phones?

MOBICIPNEWS on November 08, 2010

Mobicip application was mentioned in a very interesting article by Monetta Harr on mlive.com: "When should children be given cell phones? Consider child's maturity when making decision".  We encourage you to read the complete article on mlive.com because Harr offers multiple views regarding children and the appropriate age for cell phone usage.

Harr quotes Lorrie Thomas, CEO of Web Marketing Therapy in Santa Barbara, Calif., who has spoken to large audiences about social networking and warns parents to make good decisions in getting their children cell phones.

"Parents cannot be ignorant about what's out there, with issues like sexting and mobile and cyberbullying. It might not be fun to talk about, but it has to be done," Thomas says.

"More and more parents are buying their kids iPhones, and they must consider the content their kids have full access to and invest in online content filtering," she adds.

Harr also mentions Mobicip at the end:
"Some things parents should consider when buying their child a cell phone:
— If you are buying an iPhone or iTouch that includes Internet access, consider purchasing online filtering technology such as Mobicip.com which enables safe, secure and smut-free viewing. The technology offers extensive dynamic filters, which means parents can allow their children access to only portions of a website. For more information, visit www.Mobicip.com."
