The Little Features That Could

SUREN on October 19, 2013

Once in a while, a support issue is raised by a Premium user reporting that every search and every website is being blocked. It seems counter-intuitive and leads to frustration. There are a couple of powerful features in Mobicip Premium that can cause this, and are meant to be used sparingly and carefully.

Whitelist-Only Mode

Premium users can login at mobicip.com, go to Settings > Websites > Allow Websites and select 'Allow ONLY the websites on this list.'  If you have this selected, no other website other than the ones on your list will be allowed.

Keyword Blocking

Another powerful feature to be checked is under Settings > Phrases. Any website or content that contains keywords or phrases from your list will be summarily blocked. In general, be wary of adding short keywords to the list, as the word may be part of a longer and perfectly allowable word or phrase, and can easily lead to over-blocking.

Commonly known banned keywords are blocked anyway, so you'd want to add phrases or keywords that are not blocked by default and are not well known or obvious.

To report issues or feedback, please get in touch with us. If you are happy with Mobicip, please leave a quick review in the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Your feedback and support is much appreciated!
